These Terms govern your access to and use of nvllst.com (the "Service"), operated by Humcrush LLC ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

The Service is intended for users in the United States. We do not currently tailor the Service to the legal, tax, or consumer-protection frameworks of other jurisdictions. The Service is reachable from outside the United States, but if you access it from elsewhere you do so on your own initiative and remain responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws.

1. The Service

nvllst is an online reading platform for long-form fiction, intended for readers in the United States. Some books are made available with Immersive Reading (synchronized audio and text), in-text annotations, and other reading tools.

2. Accounts and access

The Service is presently invite-only. To use it you may need to create an account using an invite token sent to your email. We use a passwordless magic-link flow — when you sign in we email you a one-time link that expires after a short time.

You are responsible for the security of your email account and for any activity that occurs under your nvllst account.

3. Your content

When you create notes, highlights, bookmarks, or other annotations on the Service, you retain ownership of that content. By creating it on nvllst you grant Humcrush LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you.

Authors whose works are published on nvllst may be granted access to read aggregated annotation data made on their books in order to improve future work.

4. Author and publisher content

All fiction, audio, cover art, and other works published on nvllst are the intellectual property of the respective authors and rights holders. They are licensed to you, the reader, for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not:

  • Reproduce, redistribute, or republish any portion of a work
  • Remove, circumvent, or alter copyright or attribution notices
  • Use any part of a work to train machine-learning models or as the basis for derivative commercial works
  • Share your account credentials or access tokens with others

Editorial discretion. nvllst is a curated platform. We reserve the right to decline to host, or to remove, any material for any reason, including but not limited to material that conflicts with our editorial standards, our community values, or applicable law. Where reasonable, we will explain our reasoning to the affected author or rights holder.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Some books on nvllst are available for purchase, and some content may be offered through a recurring subscription. The terms in this section apply when you buy or subscribe to anything on the Service.

One-time purchases

A purchase grants you a personal, non-commercial license to access the book in the format(s) you bought (web reader, ePub, PDF, audiobook, etc.) for as long as the Service remains available. Your rights to the work itself remain subject to §4 above.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, using the payment method on file, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. Subscription fees already paid are not refunded for unused time after cancellation.

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Pricing and taxes

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Applicable U.S. sales tax is added at checkout based on your billing location.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making a purchase or starting a subscription, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. We do not see or store your full card number, security code, or other payment credentials — Stripe handles them directly. We keep records of your transactions (what you bought, when, the amount) as described in our Privacy Policy.

A failed payment may suspend access to the affected purchase or subscription until the issue is resolved.

Refunds

Digital purchases are generally non-refundable once you have begun reading or listening to the work, except where required by applicable U.S. law.

If you believe a charge was made in error, write to [email protected] within 30 days of the charge and we'll review it.

Author and rights-holder payments

When you purchase a book, nvllst facilitates the transaction on behalf of the author or rights holder. The rights to the work itself remain with them; we license those rights to you under §4 and this section. Authors are paid out from sales according to a separate agreement between nvllst and the author.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Harvest content or user data in bulk, by automated means or otherwise
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or defame any person

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, including for any violation of these Terms.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Closing your account removes your annotations and personal information, except for records we are required to retain by law.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

The opinions, characters, and storylines in works published on nvllst are those of the respective authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of Humcrush LLC.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Humcrush LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Your continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
